Explore Best of South will take you to the well-known locations of south India. Each place has its on history, art, culture, heritage and tradition. The tour plan covers 3 major states and a union territory. You would get a chance to visit temples, enjoy the scenic beauty of backwaters in houseboat and relax by the beach.

Day 01: Bengaluru


You will be met on arrival at the International airport. Transfer to your hotel. Relax.
Rest hours relax stay in hotel to overcome jetlag. Overnight stay

Day 02: Bengaluru

Today after leisure breakfast, take short tour around Bengaluru visiting Bull Temple, Dodda Ganapathi Temple, Lal Bagh botanical garden, Vidhan Soudha & High court. Evening hours free for relax walk around colorful streets of MG Road, Commercial Street. Overnight stay

Day 03: Bengaluru – Hassan

Post leisure breakfast check out from the hotel and driver towards Hassan, check in to hotel. Post lunch visit local government school, bazar and intract with students, vendors, etc

 Day 04: Hassan

Today visit BELUR:

The temple complex comprises two Hindu temples, the Hoysaleswara and Kedareshwara temples and two Jain basadi. The two Nandi statues which are on the side of the Hoysaleswara temple are monolithic. Sculptures in the temple are destructed by invaders. So the temple is incomplete. Halebid means old abode. There is an archaeological museum in the temple complex.

HALEBID: The Hoysaleswara temple, dating back to the 1121 C.E., is astounding for its wealth of sculptural details. The walls of the temple are covered with an endless variety of depictions from Hindu mythology, animals, birds and dancing figures. Yet no two sculptures of the temple are the same. This magnificent temple guarded by a Nandi Bull was never completed, despite 86 years of labour. The Jain basadi nearby are equally rich in sculptural detail. This temple is now being proposed as UNESCO World Heritage Site; later walk around tiny town of Hassan. It is chance to observe the local people life. Overnight stay

Day 05: Hassan – Shravanabelagola – Mysore

Today check out from the hotel and proceed to Mysore; enroute visit “SHRAVANABELAGOLA” – The 57-feet tall monolithic statue of Gomatheeswara is located on Vindyagiri Hill. It is considered to be the world’s largest monolithic stone statue. The base of the statue has an inscription in Kannada and Tamil, as well as the oldest evidence of written Marathi, dating from 981 AD. Every twelve years, thousands of devotees congregate here to perform the Mahamastakabhisheka, a spectacular ceremony in which the statue is covered with milk, curd, ghee, saffron and gold coins. Upon reaching Mysore check in to hotel and post lunch visit Mysore: Sprawling Maharaja’s Palace with its outstanding treasures and ivory inlaid doors. Having splendid affair with intricate carvings on the huge palatial doors should not be missed on any account. It is lavishly decorated with stained glasses, mirrors, pillars, paintings and jewels. Also visit St. Philomena’s Church, a beautiful Cathedral reminiscent of Medieval Architecture with stained glass Windows and lofty Towers.

Day 06: Mysore – Wayanad

Post breakfast drive to Wayanad; check in to resort. Relax stay

Day 07: Wayanad

Today visit Edakkal Caves, Sujipura Falls, visiting plantations Coffee, Tea, cardamom, pepper, vanilla and wildlife sanctuary

Day 08: Wayanad – Guruvayoor

Post breakfast drive to Guruvayoor; destination for break journey; check in to hotel and night stay

Day 09: Guruvayoor – Cochin

Post breakfast drive to Cochin; enroute visit “Anakottaram” – Elephant camp – where you can witness training session of baby elephants in domestic activities. Continue drive to Cochin. Check in to hotel and later visit Mattancherry Palace, Fort Cochin, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets, evening Enjoy Traditional Art show – Kathakali in Air-conditioned theatre. Overnight stay

Day 10: Cochin – Alleppey (Houseboat)

Time to drive towards “Venice of South – Alleppey” to explore and experience Houseboat Journey – Alleppey round (a luxury boat made in ethnic Kerala style having well appointed sitting room, bedrooms, toilet and kitchen) enjoy the tranquil beauty of the inland waters and the countryside for one day. Houseboat Cruise at Alleppey through Narrow canals, Virgin village, Greenish paddy fields, Coconut Farms, Temples, Churches, Snake boat, Coconut beer shop (Toddy shop), Kuttanad Village etc. Enjoy spectacular lush green paddy fields, where you may enjoy an unique nature, life style of village people and their activities like Coir roping, Toddy tapping etc. Meals served will be of typical Kerala cuisine. Evening: Tea / coffee with snacks & Banana Fry.
Candle Light Dinner: Rice/Chapathy, Dal Curry, Vegetable Curries and Chicken Curry. Breakfast: Bread with butter, jam & eggs or Kerala style Breakfast (Iddly/Dosa). All meals will be provided in the House Boat. Any changes required will have to be intimated in advance. Pure Vegetarian dishes, Dishes with Less Spicy for European Guest, North Indian Recipes etc. are also known to our Chef. Overnight stay in your Premium Air-conditioned Houseboat

Day 11: Alleppey – Periyar

Post breakfast you will be disembarking from the houseboat, drive towards Periyar; check in to hotel. Visit Spice plantation with English speaking Naturalist to learn more about Indian Spice plantations, enjoy boat ride in the Periyar Reservoir to witness wild animals in the bank of the lake. Overnight stay

Day 12: Periyar – Madurai

Today drive to Madurai – Temple city; check in to hotel; later visit Thirumalai Naik Palace, Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, overnight stay in hotel 

Day 13: Madurai – Trichy – Tanjore

Today drive towards Tanjore, enroute visit Trichy – Rock Fort Temple, Srirangam – Sri Ranganatha Swami temple and Amma Mandapam – Bank of River Cauvery – where hindu people offer their rituals to Ancestors. Enjoy the lunch in Trichy and proceed to Tanjore; check in hotel and relax walk around. Overnight stay

Day 14: Tanjore – Dharasuram – Gangaikonda Cholapuram – Swamimalai

Today morning visit BIG Temple for Lord Shiva, Tanjore Palace. Drive to Swamimalai via Dharasuram & Gangaikonda Cholapuram – World heritage monuments. Upon arrival check in to hotel and night stay

Day 15: Swamimalai – Pondicherry

Morning visit local Brass & Bronze idol manufacturing small units, visit temple and continue to Pondicherry. Evening visit Shri Manakula Vinayagar temple, Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Overnight stay

Day 16: Pondicherry – Auroville – Pondicherry

After leisure breakfast drive to Auroville – visit Peace Temple / Matrimandir – spend day. Later drive back to hotel for night stay 

Day 17: Pondicherry – Mamallapuram

Post breakfast drive to Mamallapuram; after lunch visit Arjuna Penance, Sri Krishna Butter Ball, Cave temples, Five Ratha’s and famous Sea shore temple.

Day 18: Mamallapuram – Kanchipuram – Bengaluru

Today check out from the hotel drive to Kanchipuram was the historical capital of the Pallavas. Kanchipuram is also known centre of the finest silk sarees made in the country. On reaching some of the must Visit temples are Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple, Ekambareshwara temple, Kailasanatha temple, Vaigundha Perumal temples. Have delicious South Indian lunch at the local restaurant, visit to local silk weaving factory visit. Later drive back to Bengaluru. Check in to hotel overnight stay

Day 19: Bengaluru – Departure

Time to pack your unforgettable memories of Southern India; relax tour around city and enjoy the farewell dinner; later drive to airport to board your onward flight to Sweet Home
